Rules and Guidelines
  • Author's names are always given as their last name followed by their first and middle initial, without a comma. No space between the first and middle initial.
  • Separate authors with a comma if there are more than one. If there are more than six authors, list the first three followed by et al.
  • Some books or websites do not give a name or names of personal authors, but were created by an organization, company, or government agency; use the name of the organization in place of the author if no personal author is given.
  • For works with no known author, begin with the title. Search websites carefully before deciding they have no author, don't be lazy.
