Welcome to Heritage University and the Donald K. C. North Library!
   

Testing Center

The Testing Center is located in the Library.  It is available for classes as well as individual make-up tests as well as for students eligible for ADA accommodation.

For math and composition placement testing, please contact the Academic Skills Center (ASC).

Inter-Library Loan (ILL)

Technology Loans

Equipment loans, including laptops and calculators, are provided to currently enrolled Heritage students, faculty, and staff in good standing, with no fines or overdue items.

Hours

During the academic year, the Library is open:

  • 8:00 am to 8:00 pm --Monday through Thursday
  • 8:00 am to 5:00 pm--Fridays
  • Closed on weekends, holidays, and days the campus is closed

Instructional Support and Information Literacy

Library Orientations
These are general orientation sessions designed to provide an overview for faculty and students wanting to familiarize themselves the Heritage University Library's resources, services, and policies.

Course/Assignment Information Literacy Instruction
Instructional sessions are designed to meet the specific needs of a class's assignment or research topic.  Sessions focus on recognizing an information need,  locating, evaluating, effectively using, and ethically using information.
Sessions will also address the Association of College and Research Library's Frames:

  • Authority Is Constructed and Contextual
  • Information Creation as a Process
  • Information Has Value
  • Research as Inquiry
  • Scholarship as Conversation
  • Searching as Strategic Exploration

SOAR (Serious Online Assistance with Research) online instruction 
A Zoom session for individuals, groups, or classes.

Research Consultation
Individual one-on-one hour-long research assistance, either online or in-person.

Beginners' Guide to Citations

REFWORKS--RefWorks is a reference manager, a web app that will store references for you and can generate your reference list.  Access is limited to current Heritage University faculty, students, and staff. You can create your account here.
